Boxing Day Preview

Chelsea face London rivals Arsenal in a much anticipated Premier League match up by both fanbases. The Blues are coming off of a shaky 3-0 win against West Ham United, meanwhile Arsenal are continuing a bad run of form after another loss at the hands of Manchester City in the Carabao Cup. It is a highly anticipated matchup with Chelsea the favorites to win as Arsenal look to return to winning ways.

Currently, Chelsea sit in 5th place with 25 points as Arsenal sit in 15th place with 14 points. The Blues could jump back up to a Champions League spot with a win over their London rivals while also sending Arsenal into a never before seen relegation battle. Fans all over social media started hyping up the fixture right after the West Ham win taunting many Arsenal fans.

Last year, Chelsea came from behind in the 83rd minute to beat the Gunners with a fantastic goal from Tammy Abraham. If Chelsea win tomorrow at the Emirates, it will be the first time that Arsenal have lost back-to-back home games to the Blues since November 2009. However, an interesting stat that swings in favor of the Gunners is that they have not lost any of their 12 Boxing Day home games since a 0-2 loss against Nottingham Forest in 1987.

If history does stay true, Chelsea will be in for a tough match against Arsenal trying to break their Boxing Day luck in a highly anticipated Premier League fixture.
