Chelsea handed boost in Havertz transfer
Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Kai Havertz after teammate Wendell says 'He dreams of playing there'. This is fantastic news for Chelsea fans who have been patiently waiting for any news about the young midfielder after he has attracted interest from other big European clubs. It is said that Real Madrid is extremely interested in bringing the talented midfielder and battling Chelsea for his signature. Havertz is one of the hottest prospects in world football after quickly rising to the top of the Bundesliga this season.
Havertz has score 16 goals from the middle of the park for Leverkusen this season, showing massive development and promise. No wonder Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in the youngster as he could lead their midfield for years to come.
It appears that the Blues have the edge for the youngsters signature after teammate and Brazilian left-back Wendell admitted Havertz has his heart set on a move to England. Chelsea have already shown how ready they are to make a statement next season by landing two huge transfers in Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
Wendell backed him to be a success if he does end up moving to the Premier League and called him 'a complete player'. The Brazilian praised Havertz by saying 'He's a complete player. If you play him as a No9 or No10 a little bit behind, or if you put him out wide, he'll know what to do.'
Along with his goal threat this season, Havertz has provided 8 assists for his team-mates in their pursuit for a top four spot.
Only last week Frank Lampard called him a 'top player', but said the club had not placed a bid and refused to comment further.
