Chelsea vs Aston Villa Match Analysis

Chelsea finally returned to the Premier League after not playing a match for 105 days with their fist match against Aston Villa. The Blues started out the first half of the game poorly not being able to get the ball into the next and conceded a goal in the 43rd minute to Aston Villa's Kortney Hause. The first half saw the likes of Kante and Mason Mount refresh Chelsea fans' memories of how great these two midfielders van be and what sparks they bring to Frank Lampard's side. With an amazing left foot strike from Mason Mount in the first half, it was inevitable that the Blues would get a goal, it was only a matter of time when they would come.

As the second half got underway, Chelsea started to press a lot harder than they did in the first. Aston Villa played a solid low block in the first half trying to keep Chelsea's attack at bay but was unsuccessful when American star Christian Pulisic was subbed on for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the 55th minute. The American made an instant impact scoring the first goal in the 60th minute, bringing the game to 1-1. Two minutes later, World Cup winner Olivier Giroud finished off an excellent run of play by the Blues making it 2-1 in the 62nd minute. Chelsea were able to finish off their first game of the Premier League's return with three points securing their spot for fourth place in the Premier League Table.
