Pašalic to Atalanta for €15M
Croatian midfielder Mario Pašalic is reported to be leaving Chelsea indefinitely this summer after being on loan at Italian side Atalanta since 2018. Pašalic joined Chelsea in 2014 but has never been successful in making an appearance for the first team since his arrival to The Blues. He has been one of the many players who have made up Chelsea's 'loan army' by being loaned out to numerous clubs since signing in 2014.
Pašalic has netted five goals and given out five assists in his twenty three games played for Atalanta so far this season. His stats on a comparative basis to Jorginho are much better with the Brazilian adding just three more games. Atalanta have managed a good signing here as they have been extremely dominant in the champions league thrashing Valencia 8-4 across both legs.
“We’re going to buy Mario Pašalic on a permanent deal from Chelsea," sporting director Giovanni Sartori told Sky Sport in Italy. "We want to use the buy option.” The deal would see Chelsea add €15M or £13.5m to their wallet as The Blues look to purchase more players in the upcoming transfer window as they had suffered from a transfer ban for the last two windows.
We wish Mario all the best in Italy and hope he succeeds with Atalanta in the future.
