Unconvincing 3 points

Chelsea played Norwich City in their third to last Premier League fixture of the season scraping away three points at Stamford Bridge. The Blues won the match 1-0, courteous of a brilliant header from World Cup Winner Olivier Giroud.

The Blues were unconvincing looking to show the Chelsea fans they were better than their last match after suffering a devastating loss to Sheffield United a few days earlier. Chelsea came into this fixture with a much different mindset than against Sheffield as it was a must win to stay in the top four. Making the Champions League would be a massive for Frank Lampard and his squad after not being able to purchase any players for two transfer windows.

Chelsea's first half was better at some points than the Sheffield game but hurt themselves in passing the ball backwards when Norwich was not pressing them at all. Frank Lampard noticed this and mentioned in his post-match interview saying "we got slow and passed back on ourselves. It's a trait that we have that come back in our game, but we got out of that and we finished it well". Goon on Lampard for noticing this and addressing this issue that has bother Chelsea for sometime.

The rest of the match was more of a snooze fest than anything else as the most exciting part of the game at Stamford Bridge was seeing Hakim Ziyech in attendance for the first time! While the newly signed Moroccan International has been training with Chelsea this past week, he cannot play in any games with the squad until next season.
